Congratulations to Marie Gibert-Flutre and Heide Imai (editors) for their new book entitled “Asian Alleyways:An Urban Vernacular in Times of Globalization”. This book seeks to understand cities in Asia from their alleyways, which are understood as “ordinary neighbourhood landscapes providing the setting for everyday urban life and place-based identities being shaped by varied everyday practices, collective experiences and forces”. The chapters consist of rich analyses of alleyways from various cities in North- and Southeast Asia, including Ho Chi Minh City (District 3).
